Freedman: We can break down Brighton's iron defence
Bolton boss Dougie Freedman says he has spotted why Albion are conceding so few goals.
And he believes his team can spoil the best defensive record in the Championship.
The Seagulls have the leading goals-against ratio in the division away from home with 0.75 per match.
They are now joint top with QPR for fewest goals conceded home and away in the division (0.82 per game), having surpassed Burnley in midweek.
And they lead the Championship in clean sheets with 16, including nine away from home.
But Bolton have put four past Blackburn (see accompanying video) and five past Leeds in the last fortnight and reckon they can pierce the Seagulls’ rearguard.
Freedman said: “They defend in a little bit different way.
“We’ve looked at them a lot on videos.
“The manager has got them defending a little bit deeper and they go on the counter-attack.
“That’s fine. We’ve got the personnel in our team and the ideas in our team to break them down eventually.”
Freedman was pleased with the defensive strength his side showed to grind out a 0-0 draw at Derby on Tuesday.
He added: “I know there are goals in us and now I know there’s a clean sheet and resilience is in us.
“We just need to make sure we continue the form we are in and continue to do the simple things well.”
