Bruno not ready to set targets

The Argus: Albion right-back Bruno Albion right-back Bruno

Bruno admits he cannot help keeping an eye on the Championship table.

But he has no idea how many points Albion will need to make the play-offs.

The Seagulls have 12 games remaining as they go to Bolton today.

Their right-back said: "We have to believe in our possibilities.

"We don't have too many players injured.

"We try to just think game by game but of course we check the table to see where are the other teams like Reading, like Forest who are now close to us.

"I know there are rivals playing each other. Reading have got Derby today and Ipswich play Wigan.

"But I think it is really hard to know how many wins we need."

You cannot set targets in a league which apart from Leicester of late is very inconsistent in its results from top to bottom. Each game should be taken on its own merit. As you cannot legislate for injuries, luck, suspensions.

I think Bruno will need to bring his defensive A game today if he starts as I'm sure he will, I can't see the right full back being able to score against an in form Bolton, although that position has been lucky in the the last couple of games.

But what do I know?

The, 'target,' is to do what Oscar says, 'one game at a time.' Set a series of personal targets for today's match, keep a clean sheet being the first. Be accurate when passing. No rash tackles that result in a yellow card. Look for the chance to progress the ball forward every time that circumstances allow.
