  • Albion earn valuable win
  • Buckley at the double (13, 65)
  • Medo hits bar for hosts
  • Mason goal disallowed
  • Upson ruled out by illness
  • Six pages of coverage in The Argus on Monday

4:54pm

Bolton's frustration was summed up when Danns lost the ball to Ulloa in added time and then wrestled him to the ground.

Final: Bolton 0 Albion 2

4:46pm

Suddenly Bolton opened up the left side of the Albion defence and cross beyond Kuszczak to the far post.

But Bruno was there to chest the ball behind - and ref Duncan ruled he had been shoved in the process.

The chance Bolton really needed to take to spark a tense finale fell to Danns but he headed weakly wide when unmarked inside the box.

4:41pm

Lingard suffered a bloodied nose in a tussle and ref Duncan stopped the game - to the anger of home fans as their side built an attack.

Lingard was replaced by Rodriguez and Wheater made way for Danns.

The contest was not over yet as Bolton won a corner.

But Ulloa headed it away and Rodriguez latched on to the loose ball to run it deep into Bolton territory

4:31pm

Buckley made way for March on 70 minutes.

Then Bolton sent on ex-Palace man Moritz for Chung-Yong Lee.

4:26pm

Albion had steadied the ship a little - and then they doubled their lead.

Bruno got the ball down at right-back and started a passing move which ended with Forster-Caskey helping the ball on and BUCKLEY outpacing the defence to deftly tuck his shot inside Bogdan's far post.

4:23pm

Bolton were swarming forward. Medo had two shots charged down in a frantic melee. Then the ball was drilled back into the golamouth and Mason touched it home.

But the assistant's offside flag cut short both his celebration - as the goal music  which was already booming out around the Reebok.

Suddenly play went to the other end and Ulloa had a penalty shout waved away as he seemed to be shoved in the back.

Then Bruno's low cross led to a shooting chance for Stephens - but Bogdan was down very quickly to his left to hold the effort cleanly.

4:16pm

It was threatening to be a long seocnd half for Albion's fans as Bolton pressed towards the goal at the far end.

But they wasted a corner by floating the ball tamely into the hands of Kuszczak.

4:14pm

Albion had not really got going yet in the second half. Ward offered hope of better things with a nice pass inside to sent Lingard breaking towards the area.

But Lingard's shot was blocked and Stephens volleyed the rebound horribly off target.

4:12pm

Bolton suddenly produced a nice move to get Trotter into the area to the left of goal.

But, bizarrely, he opted to shoot with the outside of his right foot and sent the ball arcing wide of the far post - and getting further and further wide as it went.

Then Albion had an amazing escape as they allowed Bolton too much space around the edge of the box.

Medo's pass sent Mason towards the byline to the right of goal. He flashed a shot across Kuszczak and it somehow fizzed through the small gap between the far post and the onrushing Jutkiewicz.

Bolton fans were delighted to see lively young winger Hall introduced to offer more width. Trotter was the man to make way.

4:08pm

Att: 15,336 (766 away)

4:05pm

There were no changes at half-time.

Albion would now aim to attack the goal closest to their travellling supporters.

3:48pm

Medo was similarly wayward with an effort on the turn just before the break.

Half: Bolton 0 Albion 1

3:44pm

A cleverly volleyed pass by Forster-Caskey suddenly opened room down Albion's right.

Buckley fed Bruno's overlapping run and, when his low cross was cleared, Forster-Caskey volleyed the loose ball well wide from outside the box.

3:39pm

Bolton were playing some better stuff now, though.

Their slick ball movement opened space on their left, with Bruno outnumbered.

The full-back brought down Baptiste just outside the box and escaped a booking.

Medo went for the top corner with the free-kick and it flicked off the top of the bar.

Ref Duncan indicated a corner, suggesting the ball had taken a slight touch off the wall or Kuszczak's fingertips along the way.

3:35pm

Bolton can be a threat at set-pieces as their big defenders go forward.

There was no Zat Knight today but Wheater got on the end of a corner and his header was tipped over well by Kuszczak.

The Pole was less impressive when Lee let fly from 25 yards. He dropped the shot in the goalmouth but Dunk was closest to the loose ball and hacked it behind for a corner which Kuszczak caught.

3:29pm

Albion were playing with a lot of confidence. A clever midfield move set up room for Bruno to charge forward down the right but his low cross was cleared.

When Ince was caught in possession in midfield, though, the Seagulls were suddenly exposed at the back.

But Dunk made an acrobatic clearance to repel the subsequent cross.

Bruno's long throw was not properly cleared and fell to Ince, but he miscued his volley and the ball bounced through gently to Bogdan.

3:21pm

Bolton though responded well and Baptiste saw his curler parried away from the top corner by Kuszczak.

Pressure continued but Lingard tracked back to block two crosses in quick succession by Lee.

3:19pm

It almost got better for Albion but Ulloa, who had done some great work in the build-up to the goal, headed a decent chance high and wide.

3:18pm

Lingard was involved in the move down the left for Albion's 13th-minute breakthrough. Ulloa curled a nice ball into the path of Buckley whose first-time shot was brilliantly saved by Bogdan. But, as the rebound ran wide of goal, BUCKLEY reacted quickly to retrieve it and curl a nice finish across Bogdan and inside the far top corner.

3:14pm

Bolton put together a nice move down there left which led to Jutkiewicz getting to the byline and driving over a low cross which Ward did superbly to clear in front of goal.

But it was Albion who struck first.

3:11pm

Albion were passing the ball about confidently. But Forster-Caskey suddenly had three white shirts around him when he received it in his own half.

Bolton nicked the ball away from him and Jutkiewicz charged into the penalty area down the inside right channel before his shot was blocked by the covering Greer.

The hosts won a corner which fell to Ream for a volley from just inside the area which Stephens blocked. That brought another flag kick which was driven in low but Dunk got there first to clear.

3:06pm

Albion made a measured start - and almost went ahead in unusual fashion.

Ward's cross was too close to Bogdan but the keeper seemd to stumble as he back-pedalled and to rather awkwardly push it behind for a corner.

That was lofted to Forster-Caskey waiting 25 yards for goal but he took a touch to bring it down and his subsequent shot was blocked as he was closed down quickly.

3:00pm

Bolton might have won the team news - their star striker passed fit after illness, Albion's key defender ruled out.

But can the Seagulls grab a precious win here at the Reebok?

Matt Upson's run of 52 league games comes to an end while Joe Mason returns for the Trotters.

Bolton are unbeaten in five, Albion buoyed by beating QPR.

Under slate grey skies and in a bitingly cold wind, here we go.....

your welcome, i thought apart from the 20 odd min spell in the 1st half for bolton we dominated. A bit sloppy with the ball but always in control nice to have a bit of pace on the pitch makes a hell of a difference. i'd be very surprised and pi ssed right off if we dont make the po's now. with 6 of the bottom 8 to play and seemingly changing up the gears nicely bring on ipswich UTA

Like so many areas of life you really don't understand computers, the internet or CMSs such as this do you?

Given the change in emails and IP addresses users are effectively untraceable. If this was not the case, how do you then keep coming back having been banned? If you were traceable you would be banned no matter which guide you hide behind. If you're in regular conversation with them, WHY do they keep banning you? Freeloaders, why not actually discuss the game rather than attack other fans? Which sides did Dunk and Greer take up at the back? What did Ince do that drew beration from the skipper? How was Stephens? What was JFC's overall contribution? Obviously you'll have to ask someone who was actually there, but you can still engage like a grown up.

I'm not sure who would have jurisdiction for a case of someone overseas taking the paper to court. Is there even an international version of the Press Complaints Commission?

This site has never regularly had 150 posts per story. Try again.

So you did look did you.It had 350 at one point. That was long b4 sad people like you took it over about 2 years ago under different names like old scrote of the Amex.Your life really is so sad i almost feel sorry for you.
Have you ever been on anger management courses? If so, ask for a refund.

I've not been here that long - less than a year - but threads rarely get over 100, and the internet is more prevalent than it used to be so I'm guessing they were quieter as you go back in time.

Have you even talked about the game today? What were your impressions about the performance? How was Bruno? What was Lingard like, or David Rodriguez? And most importantly, what was the halftime entertainment?

Why not engage?
