Top scorer Matt Tubbs misses his third game through injury as Crawley attempt to end a run of five consecutive defeats at home to Crewe Alexandra.

Tubbs remains sidelined by a hamstring strain so Rory Fallon keeps his place in attack alongside Billy Clarke.

Boss John Gregory makes three changes to the side which lost 2-1 at Port Vale on Tuesday night, including a rare start for Gary Dicker in midfield in place of the suspended Dannie Bulman.

Sergio Torres also comes back into the starting XI at the expense of Andy Drury – who is not even on the bench – while Kyle McFadzean returns to the centre of defence in place of Paul Connolly following a two-game ban.

Crewe make two changes to the side which lost 2-1 against Coventry last weekend, Byron Moore and Liam Nolan coming in for George Evans and Bradden Inman.

Crawley (4-4-2): P Jones; M Connolly, McFadzean, Walsh, Sadler; Simpson, Torres, Dicker, M Jones; Clarke, Fallon. Subs: Maddison, P Connolly, Boateng, Monakana, Edwards, Kaikai, Proctor.

Crewe ( 4-4-2): Garratt; Tootle, Ellis, Dugdale, Guthrie; Pogba, Nolan, Grant, Moore; Aneke, Ikpeazu. Subs: Phillips, Mellor, Osman, Ray, Inman, Oliver, Waters.
