Video - Seagulls must beware of Rams striker

The Argus: Chris Martin, left Chris Martin, left

Chris Martin has Albion in his sights again as he attempts to fire Derby to Wembley.

Striker Martin scored both goals as the Rams won 2-1 at the Amex Stadium in August and heads back to the south coast tonight for the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final.

“I hope it works in my advantage,'' said the 25-year-old.

“It is strange because it does give you confidence as a striker when you seem to score against teams. “I scored against Brighton when I was at Norwich too so I will take confidence from the fact that I can score against them, but every game is different.

“That was our first away game in the league this season and it really set the tone for how we have played on the road as there are only a couple of teams who have better away records than us this season.”

.....and Derby have to be aware of our striker too! Reckon he'll do us proud tonight, I think he has the taste for Wembley.

The key is to have absolute belief and play our very best football as we did for instance against Leicester. Tentative is not a word for this evening. Against Palace here we didn't go for it. Think Andy Murray for years in the tennis - to win a grand final you throw absolutely everything at it for that time frame - there are risks involved, it can go horribly wrong .... but ..... it will go wrong less often than if you are tentative and cagey. Let's get this done!! Absolutely everyone BHA in the stadium should be continually cheering on the Seagulls till their voices are hoarse ....

I've seen this guy on a fairly regular basis this season and he never ceases to amaze me. His build makes him look like he ate all the pies, but he's clearly a danger man, but then again, so is Leo.
I reckon we're in for a decent couple of games because they play 'proper' football too.
Fingers crossed!

Chris Martin is a very good player and we'll have to be on our toes to suppress him. But, so is our Leo and we have other players who can be just as effective like Kaz and Buckers.
The big danger is if we concentrate only on the threat of one player. We've got to cover all avenues and focus on all threats. I am sure Oscar has this covered and we'll be ready.
