Lingard says goodbye with a goal as loan stars bow out at home

The Argus: Jesse Lingard turns away after scoring tonight Jesse Lingard turns away after scoring tonight

Jesse Lingard said farewell to the Amex with a goal tonight.

The Manchester United striker scored in the final home game of his spell on loan.

But it was not enough to prevent a 2-1 play-off defeat to Derby.

Lingard finished his home stint with eight appearances at the Amex and tonight’s blast past Lee Grant was his third goal.

His three home goals came in his last four appearances.

Fellow loanees Stephen Ward and Keith Andrews also potentially said farewell to home fans as the Seagulls were applauded off at the end.

Ward could be back as well as Andrews. Linguard won't. Aint to bothered about that now CMS and Hoskins are back

Loan system stinks! Clubs that cant afford their own players borrow from other clubs, win promotion and play off places and then the loanees go back to their own clubs. This penalises properly run clubs who own all their own players and then get pipped for promotion/play-off places. Reading are the moral champions of the Championship, the only club in the top 7 with all their own players and no loanees!

Some supporters at this club are never happy.
Quite a few dismiss the contribution of Lingard

He is our 3rd highest scorer behind Leo & Crofts.

The lad has done pretty well in my opinion

Happy to participate in and benefit from the loan system nonetheless:

"The Royals have a number of players out on loan at the moment, gaining valuable experience both domestically and overseas."

Parachute payment scheme stinks! Anything to say on that Mr. Bitter?

You already had an unfair advantage over us and still stuffed it up epically!!
