Albion youngster joins Gills

The Argus: Brennan Dickenson (centre) Brennan Dickenson (centre)

Albion forward Brennan Dickenson has joined Gillingham on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Dickenson has teamed up with the Seagulls' former landlords from Kent after two-and-a-half years in Sussex without making a first team appearance.

The versatile 21-year-old was bought by Albion from Dorchester Town in January 2012.

He failed to make a first team breakthrough and was loaned out to Chesterfield, AFC Wimbledon and Northampton during his time at the Amex.

Dickenson will now be playing under former Albion boss Peter Taylor at the Priestfield Stadium.

Good luck to the lad, could be the step back that propels him on to better things.

I think Warren said in Commentary that he was one of his recommendations.

The one time I saw him in a pre-season friendly he appeared to have decent raw talent but doesn't appear to have kicked on. Nothing particularly spectacular in his loan appearances and suspect it was only a matter of time before he moved on. Hopefully he will have a good career at a slightly lower level.

I saw him in U21 games and he had a bad attitude and work ethic. Would be a liability in the 1st team so I am glad he has gone and released more funds for other players.
