Chris Eubank Junior destroyed Croatian Ivan Jukic tonight in Manchester with a first round stoppage.
Eubank Jr vowed to The Argus he would make it short and sweet ahead of the middleweight fight and was true to his word.
The Brighton prospect was roared into the ring by the Manchester crowd and then impressed them with a display of speed and power.
He cornered Jukic early in a neutral corner and laid down a barrage of combinations.
Jukic’s worried glance to his corner said a lot after that first battering.
Eubank Jr backed Jukic into the opposite corner and again threw a flurry of big shots to the ribs and head before finishing with a couple of uppercuts as his opponent crumpled.
The game Jukic beat the count but was back on the canvas under the next assault and the fight was stopped.
The fight was scheduled for ten rounds but lasted two minutes 32 seconds.
It stretched Eubank Jr’s record to 17 wins – and was his ninth successive stoppage.
