Albion are being linked with a season-loan loan move for Liverpool left-back Jack Robinson.
The Seagulls have yet to seal a deal to bring Republic of Ireland left-back Stephen Ward back to the club on a permanent basis from Wolves following his loan spell at the Amex last season.
Robinson, 20, was identified by The Argus as a potential signing for manager and former Liverpool stalwart Sami Hyypia at the end of June.
Robinson has plenty of Championship experience after loan spells with Blackpool last season and Wolves the year before.
The former England youth international became Liverpool's youngest ever player in the final game of 2009-10, aged 16 and 250 days.
Hyypia switched the experienced Inigo Calderon to left-back for Saturday's opening Championship defeat by Sheffield Wednesday at the Amex.
