Albion have handed first starts to two recent signings as they tackle Leeds tonight.

Portuguese playmaker Joao Teixeira, who came off the bench at Birmingham on Saturday, starts at Elland Road.

He is joined by Danny Holla, the Dutchman whose arrival was announced on Sunday.

Lewis Dunk and Kemy Agustien return to the side as Sami Hyypia makes four changes to the XI which kicked off a depressing 1-0 defeat at St Andrew’s.

Aaron Hughes, Rohan Ince, Kazenga LuaLua and Chris O’Grady drop to the bench.

Hyypia’s latest addition Paddy McCourt is also among the subs.

Albion: Stockdale; Calderon, Greer, Dunk, Chicksen; Holla, Forster-Caskey, Bruno; Agustien, Teixeira, Mackail-Smith. Subs: Ankergren, Hughes, Ince, Toko, McCourt, LuaLua, O'Grady.

Why don't the club just come out and say he wants to go?

agreed, he is a super sub, but why? When I ask why I am not talking tactics, I am left wondering why he can't deliver over 90 minutes on a regular basis whn he can be so lethal for 30 minutes..

Maybe Sami recognises his talent.
Different managers have seen something in him that many supporters do not.
He is also highly regarded in the England U21 set up
Still only 20 so is still developing ( certainly needs to improve his freekicks & Corners).

No idea really.....Texeira maybe? No wingers so presumably the full backs will bomb forward. To be fair to Sami, we had to try something different after the anaemic first couple of performances.

I can't remember the last time he had a good game to be honest, I think he has something, it's the lack of pace that leaves him out of a fast moving game.

Jfc, Bruno and Agustien in midfield! Really! Recipe for disaster imo, carry on like this and Ince, March and LuaLua will all want out!
LuaLua is only effective on the left wing running at defenders, not playing inside behind the striker! Ince should be the first name on the team sheet, dominating in front of the back four and March should be taking Buckleys position on the right, tricking his way into the box.
Why won't people admit it! We are just filling the squad out on the cheap, the only signing of any significance is Stockdale, Tex is a loan player and will be good but gone next year leaving a void again. Hope to be proved wrong but very much doubt it, time will tell but we don't have time to find out.

One match doesn't make a season, same as the two previous losses doesn't destroy it, my point is, that if we are to be honest, we are picking up the best of the left overs, it might get us through the season, might! Tex should be very good at this level, the sort of player we should be looking to get in permanently, to do that we need to invest. Players like Ince and March should be the future of this team, not being dropped, this will only lead to further unrest and they will want away if we are not careful, same for LuaLua. A win tonight followed up by a much needed home win and it might get people back on side. Good to see Chicksen having a good game, the potential is there with him, he just needs that run of games to get the confidence, same for Dunk.
