The original March 7 date for the match at the Madejski Stadium clashed with Reading's involvement in the FA Cup.
Steve Clarke's Royals are at Bradford City in the quarter-finals before hosting the Seagulls.
The fixture change fills what would have been an 11-day gap for Albion between home games against Derby County and Wolves.
