Inigo Calderon is motivated by revenge for Albion against leaders Derby County tonight - after watching with his young son a reminder of what might have been.
County return to the Amex for the first time since edging past the Seagulls in the first leg of the play-off semi-finals in May on their way to a resounding 6-2 win on aggregate.
Calderon and his two-and-a-half-year-old boy Aimar saw the painful evidence of how Derby got their noses in front.
The Spaniard said: "He loves to watch clips on Youtube and we were watching the game against Derby in the first leg of the play-offs.
"We lost 2-1 and, trust me, we didn't deserve to lose that game. We had great chances to win. They scored from a penalty and an own goal.
"The game after up there they deserved to win. That was a disaster but it's not as if it is a team we cannot play against. We want to have that revenge and try to beat them.
"I see it as that. You are still thinking we should at least have got a better result at home."
Calderon says new contract silence from Albion will not distract him.
The long-serving defender-turned-midfielder told The Argus: "They know plan A and plan B is to stay here but we'll have to try to see now other things, plan C, because you cannot be waiting all the time.
"But now the main thing is to be focused on the game. It's not going to affect me. You try to forget about that when you are on the pitch or training, that's football.”
