Dean Cox has been disciplined by Albion - for getting shirty.

Boss Dean Wilkins has taken action against the diminutive midfielder for his response to being substituted during Saturday's home match against Huddersfield.

Cox threw his shirt off when he was replaced by Doug Loft towards the end of the goalless draw at Withdean.

His fit of pique was spotted by Seagulls supporters in the South Stand.

Wilkins revealed: "That has been dealt with. He has been disciplined.

"He says his reaction was out of frustration for his own performance but, regardless of whether it was or not, nobody takes the shirt off and throws it."

Cox and his team-mates had to sit through a video nasty of Saturday's display after training at Withdean yesterday.

Wilkins is looking for an improvement at Northampton on Saturday but he has a couple of early injury doubts.

Joel Lynch went over on an ankle in training and Alex Revell has a back problem.

Tommy Fraser is out of tonight's Reserve team fixture against Queens Park Rangers at Worthing (7pm) with a sore foot.

The midfielder sustained the injury in the Reserves against Crystal Palace last week on his comeback from a three-match suspension.

On-loan Arsenal defender Joe O'Cearuill, ruled out of the Huddersfield game by groin trouble, has still travelled with the Republic of Ireland under-21s for a friendly in Holland tonight.

Meanwhile, Nick Ward is among a hat-trick of English-based players in the Australian under-23 squad for Wednesday's crucial Beijing 2008 Olympics qualifying clash against Saudi Arabia in Adelaide.

The playmaker on loan to Albion from QPR faces competition for a midfield place from Birmingham's Neil Kilkenny and the squad also includes Hereford defender Trent McClenahan.

Australia are second in Group D on two points after a goalless draw against Iran in Tehran and 1-1 draw at home to Jordan.

Saudi Arabia top the group on six points, with Iran and Jordan on one point apiece.

Albion Reserves: Kuipers; P. Hinshelwood, Elphick, Breach, Rents, Mayo, Frutos, Loft, Hart, Elder, Gatting. Subs Cobbs, Gargan, Martin, Skinner, Sullivan.
