Albion completed another miserable Easter as they went down 1-0 at Rotherham today.
Matt Derbyshire produced an expert finish in only the eighth minute to give the relegation-threatened Millers a crucial win.
Derbyshire flicked home a cross by Jordan Bowery, who was allowed far too much space to deliver from near the corner flag.
After a dismal first half, the Seagulls improved in the second with Beram Kayal impressive pushed into a more attacking role.
But the closest they came to a goal was when Bowery sliced sub Leon Best’s driven cross inches over his own bar.
Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez dived at Kayal’s feet when the Albion man took a poor touch when he was clean through and defenders got back to complete the clearance.
But there was very little end product to go with much improved energy from the visitors.
In fact Derbyshire would have had a second but for a block from David Stockdale.
