Inigo Calderon’s career is in limbo as Albion fight to clinch Championship survival.
The long-serving Spaniard does not know if he will be offered a new deal.
The club have yet to open talks with Calderon, 33, whose contract runs out in June.
Fellow defensive veterans Bruno and Gordon Greer were awarded one-year extensions in December, when Sami Hyypia was still in charge.
Calderon has featured regularly under Chris Hughton, mainly as a stop-gap midfielder.
Hughton will not turn his attention to contract issues until Albion are mathematically safe, which they will be today if they win at doomed Wigan and Millwall lose at Cardiff.
