Albion’s downbeat season ended on a suitably depressing note at home – as Watford moved to the brink of the Premier League.
Goals from Troy Deeney and Matej Vydra gave the leaders a 2-0 success at the Amex.
Deeney struck on 29 minutes as the ball bounced around the penalty area.
He also teed up Vydra for a counter-attacking second in added time at the end of the game wth Albion under-manned in defence.
The Seagulls’ best chance to upset the Watford party came in the very first minute when Chris O’Grady’s effort was charged down.
O'Grady had a shot pawed away by Heurelho Gomes as Albion sought a response.
Craig Mackail-Smith’s introduction off the bench livened things up a bit and O’Grady headed narrowly wide in the closing stages.
Dale Stephens had a low drive held by the diving Heurelho Gomes but Watford also had chances on the break as the hosts pushed forward.
