Sussex tennis ace Johanna Konta will play her first round match at Wimbledon tomorrow against Maria Sharapova on centre court.
The clash takes place after defending men's champion Novak Djokovic has opened proceedings against Germany's Philip Kohlschreiber.
Eastbourne-based Konta's showdown with 2004 champion and world No.4 Sharapova will be the third time a Sussex woman has faced a big name on centre court.
Julie Salmon in 1989 and Clare Wood in 1993 won three games apiece against German legend Steffi Graf.
Konta, a quarter-finalist at Eastbourne this week, is likely to pose more of a threat to Sharapova. She is yet to play on grass this year after missing her customary warm-up at Birmingham.
