Kazenga LuaLua was Albion’s matchwinner again today as their impressive start to the season continues.
The winger struck on 35 minutes to secure a hard-earned 1-0 success at home to a direct and competitive Blackburn side.
It was LuaLua's third winning goal of the season - and he also forced the penalty from which the Seagulls snatched last-gasp success at Fulham.
LuaLua was teed up by Sam Baldock after a move started by Dale Stephens and finished with a shot which deflected off defender Grant Hanley.
Tomer Hemed and Stephens would have extended the lead in a lively second half but for fine saves from Rovers’ teenage goalkeeper David Raya.
But Albion also had to defend strongly, especially against high balls, and David Stockdale had his best game yet this season.
The big keeper got down to his right to deny Fode Koita early on and denied Craig Conway and Nathan Delfouneso in one-on-ones in either half.
Defender Shane Duffy, sent forward late on, should have levelled for Rovers in the 90th minute but headed over from close range.
And Albion, who had been below par for the first half hour or so, saw it through from there.
