Eastbourne star Bradley Wilson-Dean has put birthday plans on hold – so he can clinch silverware with his club.

The big-scoring New Zealander has shelved plans to return to New Zealand in time for his 21st on October 26 as Eagles prepare for a late end to their season.

They still have THREE finals to tackle, with dates yet to be arranged for two of them.

Wilson-Dean told The Argus: “I will definitely be here.

“I wanted to be home by the 26th but it would be a sad end to the season after all the work I’ve done here.”

Eagles face Rye House in the National Trophy final on October 3 (away) and 4 (home).

They do not yet know dates or opponents for finals of the Knockout Cup or Gold Cup.

Wilson-Dean expects to be fit for the Trophy final but could pull out of tomorrow’s 16-Lapper at Ipswich and this weekend’s National League Riders Championship.

He suffered a hefty fall at Rye House last Saturday, although fears he had broken fingers proved unfounded.

Team manager Glenn Martin described the crash as “horrible.”

Wilson-Dean said: “I woke up next day and my whole body was sore. I landed on my head but I don’t think I was knocked out.

“I was checked over and given the all clear but I have not been feeling good.

“Everyone said my fingers would be broken but I had an X-ray and they weren’t – just banged up.

“I had some cuts and my hand was swollen so I couldn’t grip the handlebars.”
