Elvis Manu expects his move to Albion to help fast-track him on to the international stage.

The Seagulls frontman is waiting for a call from his new national team boss Avram Grant after switching allegiance from Holland to Ghana.

He is convinced a move from top-flight Eredivisie to English second-tier football will not adversely affect his international ambitions.

Now he hopes for more Championship action as his side take their unbeaten record to goal-shy Bolton on Saturday.

Manu, who made his debut at Wolves last week, said: “I spoke with the Ghana coach and he said when my papers are through he will give me a call so I’m waiting. It should be soon. I don’t know when.

“Being here is a good move. If you compare the Dutch league to the Championship, you can’t say the Dutch is better The Championship is harder, more physical, more pace, more strength.

“I don’t feel like it is a step backwards for me.”

Manu believes he has more to offer than was shown in his 45 minutes at Molineux.

And he reckons he can improve as a player after working with former Premier League striker Bobby Zamora.

The former Feyenoord flyer said: “Bobby is very experienced player so I can learn a lot from him. I already have done in training. I look at him, speak with him, see how he moves.”
