BOBBY ZAMORA says he is not surprised Albion’s team without stars are leading the way in the Championship.
Zamora has been impressed by the talent and team spirit under Chris Hughton since returning to the club.
The legendary striker, who made his first start for the Seagulls for 12 years at Bolton, told The Argus: “I don’t know if I’d say I’m surprised. From what I’ve seen they’ve been very good and deserve to be where they are.
“There are no stand-out stars. Obviously Kaz (LuaLua) and Tomer (Hemed) have been brilliant for us but all around the pitch everybody’s willing to work and do their jobs.
“I’ve been very impressed with the back four, with everyone.”
Zamora lasted an hour and played a part in the first-half goals scored by Dale Stephens and Jamie Murphy.
He said: “I need to improve, become a little fitter, become a little sharper, but you can only get that with game time and training. I’m pleased with where I am at the moment.”
Zamora may have to wait for his first home start as five-goal Hemed is expected to recover from hamstring tightness in time to face Cardiff at the Amex on Saturday.
