Albion have reported a fan died on his way home from their 5-0 win over Fulham tonight.

The supporter suffered a cardiac arrest at Falmer Station.

A club tweet read: “We're sorry to report a fan suffered a fatal cardiac arrest at Falmer Station after tonight's game. Our thoughts are with his family.”

Albion had earlier asked fans, also via Twitter, planning to catch trains in the direction of Lewes to be patient due to a “major medical incident” taking place at the station.

Seagulls goalkeeper David Stockdale and midfielder Dale Stephens were among the first to offer they sympathies.

Stockdale tweeted: “Sorry to hear of one of our fans passing after the game tonight.. Thought from the whole club with their family.”

Stephens added: “So sad to hear the news, one of our fans didn't return home after the game tonight. Really does put things into perspective.”
