Albion will play Friday and Monday night games in the play-offs if they miss out on automatic promotion.
Dates have been confirmed for the Championship semi-finals.
And they have thrown up the prospect of a Friday trip to South Yorkshire or South Wales if the play-offs are on the agenda.
The Seagulls can finish no lower than third, which would mean a Friday night away trip in the semis if they have finished below both Burnley and Middlesbrough.
They would visit the sixth-placed team on May 13 (7.45pm) with the second leg at the Amex on Monday, May 16 (7.45pm).
That scheduling will bring back bad memories from three years ago, when Albion drew 0-0 at Crystal Palace on Friday night and lost 2-0 at home on the Monday.
But it heads off the possibility of another Saturday lunchtime game at Cardiff City, which was the scenario surrounding their last defeat.
Sheffield Wednesday are favourites to finish sixth although Cardiff are not out of the running.
The final is at Wembley on Saturday, May 28 (5pm).
