Heather Olver has been named in Great Britain’s badminton squad for the Rio Olympics.

Olver, from Heathfield, is among eight athletes chosen for the Games where she will compete in the women’s doubles with Lauren Smith.

The 30-year-old was a double Commonweath silver medallist in 2014 and, with Smith, has won the national doubles title for the last two years.

Olver first began playing the sport at Waldron Junior Badminton Club. She represented England as a junior aged 11 and has been a senior international since the age of 23.
