Tom Dallison is in line for a surprise return to Crawley - this time in an Albion shirt.

The centre-half prospect is likely to play a part in the Seagulls' opening pre-season friendly at their Sussex neighbours on Saturday (3pm).

Dallison, recently awarded a professional contract, was one of four members of last season's under-21s squad taken to Tenerife with the first team for a week-long training camp which ended on Saturday with an in-house match.

Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, full-back Rob Hunt and Norwegian winger Henrik Bjordal also made the trip.

Lewis Dunk and Connor Goldson are currently Albion's only available first team central defenders, as German Uwe Huenemeier is still recovering from serious groin damage and ex-skipper Gordon Greer was released at the end of last season.

Albion have signed Ben Hall from Motherwell, but he will start off in the under-21's and was not taken to the Canary Islands.

Dallison, 20, joined Albion from Arsenal. He signed for Crawley on a month's loan in February following stints with Braintree and Dartford.

Dallison fractured a toe in his pro debut for Crawley against Plymouth Argyle in League Two and had to return to Albion for treatment.

Sanchez could also be involved at Crawley as cover for Niki Maenpaa, with regular No.1 David Stockdale sidelined from the Tenerife trip by a minor setback after toe surgery.

Winger Jiri Skalak rejoins the squad on Thursday from extended leave following his involvement with the Czech Republic in the Euro finals in France.
