Bruno is set to lead Albion's bid to return to the top of the Championship at the Amex tomorrow night.

The veteran skipper and right-back is on course for an immediate return to the defence against Cardiff.

Bruno's run of 72 successive Championship starts, stretching back to May 2015, was ended by a groin strain in Friday's victory against Sheffield Wednesday.

Connor Goldson, better known as a central defender, was switched to deputise for the Spaniard.

Bruno trained yesterday and, providing he suffers no reaction to training today, will be back to try to help Albion to a fifth straight home league win, which would take them above Newcastle again at the top.

Sam Baldock (calf) has resumed training today and will be assessed afterwards as Albion wait on the outcome of their appeal against fellow striker Glenn Murray's red card on Friday evening.

Seb Pocognoli continues at left-back in place of Gaetan Bong, who remains sidelined by a knee injury.

Meanwhile, Liam Rosenior continues his comeback from a broken ankle and ligament damage in the under-23s against Nottingham Forest at Alfreton FC tonight (7pm).

He could then be in contention for his first team return at Lincoln in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Boss Chris Hughton said: "That's a decision I still have to make. He's played 45 minutes and 60 minutes. We'll make an assessment after the game tonight."
