Albion are sending right-back prospect Rob Hunt on loan to Oldham.

The 21-year-old's temporary move to Boundary Park should be confirmed today, so Hunt will not be involved in Saturday's FA Cup fourth round tie at Lincoln.

Boss Chris Hughton said: "My feeling is that he won't be involved Saturday. I'm quite sure something will be done before then, only because of the interest of three parties."

The Argus revealed earlier this month Oldham, Portsmouth and Crawley's interest in borrowing Hunt, who made his first team debut for the Seagulls in the League Cup against Colchester at the Amex in August.

Hunt has made four League Cup and FA Cup starts in total. He also made his League debut as a second half sub at Burton in September.

Albion want to give him more first team experience, which he is unlikely to get at the Amex for the rest of this season with captain Bruno dominating the right-back berth and Liam Rosenior on his way back from four months out with ankle damage.

Boss Chris Hughton has opted for central defender Connor Goldson's greater experience at right-back in the last two games, which Bruno missed with a groin injury.

Albion signed 19-year-old Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori on loan this week to clear the way for Hunt's exit to Oldham, where manager John Sheridan will use him as a right-back or right wing-back.
