Ipswich have been hit by a double defensive blow for their clash with Albion at the Amex tomorrow night.

Former Newcastle stalwart Steven Taylor and Scottish international Christophe Berra have both been ruled out by injuries sustained in Saturday's 1-0 win at Aston Villa.

Taylor - now sidelined for four weeks - and the similarly experienced Berra were both forced off before half-time.

Mick McCarthy's side still managed to inflict Villa's first home defeat of the season with a late goal by Emyr Huws, on loan from Cardiff.

Albion manager Chris Hughton warned: "Ipswich are always a threat. They went through a difficult period, but they have a manager I know very well.

"When ever he is called upon to turn things around he can, because of the quality of the man and the quality of players they have got.

"In my time here we've never had a comfortable game against Ipswich. They are on the back of a very good victory at Villa, so they are coming here in good form with good confidence. We certainly have to be aware of that."

In-form Tom Lawrence has ten goals for Ipswich on loan from Leicester and nine bookings, one away from a two-match ban.
