Fikayo Tomori has revealed how his test by Birmingham City went to script.

The on-loan Chelsea youngster is preparing for a possible call at QPR on Friday after his hour in place of the unwell Lewis Dunk.

Tomori was disappointed to miss out on a clean sheet but says he was perfectly prepared for the challenge posed by Blues.

The visitors, as expected, brought in Clayton Donaldson rather than Lukas Jutkiewicz as their main front man.

They employed the energetic young Che Adams, who eventually scored a consolation goal, just off him.

Tomori told The Argus: “We knew with Donaldson and Adams they had a lot of pace and power up front.

“They got the ball into the wide areas quite quickly and then they were hard to break down at the back.

“Every time they got the ball we knew we had to give ourselves a few yards because they were looking to go in behind.

“I think we defended them well. We were disappointed to concede a goal.”

Tomori put his time to good use as he spent the first 15 minutes on the bench before being told to warm up as Dunk struggled with sickness.

He said: “Watching clips before the game you know what they do and you listen to what the manager says.

“Watching the game for the first few minutes, you see what the striker is doing.

“He was running in behind a lot so I prepared myself for that mentally and physically. I think I coped well.”

Albion boss Chris Hughton said: "I thought he did well. It's his natural position, along with right-back, and I thought he was very much tested."
