CHRIS EUBANK Junior will make the first defence of his IBO world super-middleweight title against Arthur Abraham.

Details of the showdown will be officially announced early this week after the Brighton fighter told The Argus last Saturday an announcement was close.

Eubank claimed the IBO belt off Australian Renold Quinlan in February on the newly launched ITV Box Office channel.

This will be his first fight since that stoppage victory and will be on July 15 at the SSE Arena, London, and again televised by pay-per-view channel ITV Box Office.

Eubank Jr, 27, son of former two-weight world champion Chris senior, has been linked with a number of possible fights including a clash with IBF champion James DeGale but instead will face the veteran but dangerous Abraham.

Abraham, 37, is a former two-weight, three-time world champion and a record of 46 wins, five defeats and no draws from 51 fights has earned him the nickname King Arthur.

Berlin-based Abraham lost his WBO world super-middleweight belt to Gilberto Ramirez last April but impressive wins against Tim Robin Lihaug and Robin Krasnigi since then have shown he remains a force.

He stopped Lihaug to win the WBO International super-middleweight title last July and made a successful defence in April this year with a one-sided points decision against Krasnigi.
