Jiri Skalak is about to get a Czech mate at Albion.
The Seagulls are closing in on right-back Ales Mateju from Viktoria Plzen as the latest addition to their development squad.
The 21-year-old is set to sign for a deal which, with add-ons, could eventually be worth around £2 million.
Albion bought winger Skalak, 25, from Mlada Boleslav in the January 2016 transfer window.
Mateju, regarded as a long-term investment, will not be joining Skalak immediately in the first team squad, although he already has Europa League experience with Plzen.
He joined them from his home town club Pribram two years ago after an earlier spell in PSV Eindhoven's academy.
Mateju has represented his country from every level between under-16s and under-21s.
Plzen, the Czech capital of lager, have just unveiled dugouts in the shape of beer cans at their home ground, the Doosan Arena.
