JAMES TILLEY has dedicated his “dream” winner to his driving force – mum Janet and dad Kevin.

The 19-year-old from Billingshurst came off the bench to fire the only goal of the Carabao Cup tie at home to Barnet last night.

Tilley told The Argus: “It was everything I’d ever dreamed of, scoring at the Amex in front of the home crowd.

“I was told to go on, enjoy myself and work hard with and without the ball.

“I saw the ball going down that side and just made sure I was at the back post.

“It took a couple of deflections in the box and then it just dropped nicely for me.

“I’ve scored for the 23s at the Amex – but it’s nothing like that with a lot more fans there.”

Tilley, who has been with the Seagulls since the age of 12, replaced Anthony Knockaert at the break and was watched by his proud parents.

He said: “My mum and dad came to watch. They drove me around everywhere to play football when I was younger and everything I do is for them.”

Uwe Huenemeier confirmed he got a touch on the Jean-Louis Akpa-Akpro shot which hit the post – though he was not sure how much he diverted the ball’s flight.

Huenemeier said: “We made it a bit hard for ourselves but we kept a clean sheet and that was really important for us.”

The German praised debut midfielder Jayson Molumby and added: “He did really well.”
