Albion target Florin Andone has asked Deportivo La Coruna, through his agent, to let him leave.

But Depor officials tonight emerged from talks over the Seagulls’ interest in the services of the speedy Romanian striker still determined to keep him on board.

The Galician club have secured the return of favourite Lucas Perez on loan from Arsenal.

They have maintained they would look to keep Andone, even if the Perez deal was completed, barring offers of about £20 million.

Perez is due to land back in La Coruna to a hero’s welcome later this evening.

And, with Adrian Lopez having also returned to the club recently on loan from Porto, Andone is thought to fear his first team chances will be limited this season.

Reports were also emerging this evening that Depor have lined up a French striker in case Andone leaves.

The transfer window does not close until tomorrow in Spain.

But the latest from a source close to Deportivo is that directors remain determined to hold on to Andone.
