Liam Rosenior enjoys his media commitments and television appearances.

But the Albion full-back was even happier to get back to the day job.

Rosenior returned to action as skipper in the Seagulls’ 1-0 win at Middlesbrough in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

It was his first appearance in four months, since featuring in the Carabao Cup defeat at Bournemouth.

And he made the most of it.

Rosenior told The Argus: “I loved it. When I was a little boy I dreamt of playing football.

“When you are not in the team, you realise how good things are when you are in the team and playing.

“What I wanted to do was justify my selection and give the manager food for thought and hopefully I have done that.”

Albion were tonight drawn at home to Coventry City, third-round victors of Stoke, in the fifth round.

Rosenior believes a cup run can lift the club and help the main aim of Premier League survival.

He said: “You want to keep your cup run going.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to play in an FA Cup final and, trust me, it is one of the best days in your life.

“That was with the Hull team who were promoted and in their first season (in the Premier League).

“The most important thing is the players who haven’t been playing push the ones who are in the team.

“We need everyone together, everyone fighting to not only get in the team but to win games in the Premier League.”

Rosenior has been busy during his spell out of the side and appears to have avenues open to remain in the game when the time comes to hang up his boots.

He said: “I am trying to work with the younger players and fit that in around training.

“I feel more like a media pundit than a player, the last few months!

“I have been on the TV more doing that but it was nice to feel like I was doing my day job.

“Waking up on a Saturday morning knowing you are going to play is the best feeling in the world.

“Hopefully the second half of the season I can have a few more feelings like that.”
