West Brom striker Jay Rodriguez has reportedly submitted an appeal against an FA misconduct charge relating to alleged racial abuse of Albion defender Gaetan Bong.
Rodriguez was given an extended deadline until today to respond to the charge, arising from a clash during the Premier League clash at the Hawthorns on January 13.
According to The Times, the appeal by Rodriguez includes evidence from a lip-reader that he did not use the words claimed by Bong, along with character statements from players and managers at various Premier League clubs.
Rodriguez faces a five-match suspension if found guilty by an independent three-man panel.
