ALBION could snap up former target Florin Andone for a cut-price fee – if they decide to renew their interest.

The Romanian, pictured, is set to leave current club Deportivo La Coruna after they were relegated from Spain’s top flight.Depor have reduced his buyout clause from 20 million euros to six million.

Albion are likely to cast their net wide in the hunt for summer reinforcements.

They signed striker Jurgen Locadia in a record deal from PSV and Leo Ulloa on loan from Leicester in the January window after Andone, fresh from scoring an important equaliser at Villarreal, pledged his allegiance to Depor.

But his team’s expected revival in the second half of the season never materialised and he is expected to leave after relegation was confirmed by a 4-2 home defeat at Barcelona on Sunday night.

That will alert Albion, if they still believe his strong running attributes as a No.9 would be of use in the Premier League.

Former Depor goalkeeper Paco Liano, who remains close to the club and comments on their progress for Spanish radio, told Cadena Cope: “A lot of players are going to leave “Andone’s buyout clause will come down to six million euros and he will be out of there as soon as they are relegated.”

Andone has scored twice since January but his side have gone down with three games still to go.
