Albion have signed former Doncaster Belles midfielder Emily Simpkins ahead of their debut WSL season.

The 28-year-old joins the club on a free transfer after leaving Belles this summer and has signed a one-year contract.

She spent almost three years with Doncaster, the team who beat Albion to the WSL title last season, having become their first professional player in November, 2015.

Albion manager Hope Powell said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Emily to the club.

“She has played at the very highest level in the Champions League, and her experience will be vital this coming season.

“Emily will add a new dimension to our options in central midfield and I am very much looking forward to working with her this season.”
