Chris Hughton wants more of the same from Solly March to boost Albion’s chances of upsetting Liverpool.

The left-winger starred in Sunday’s win against Manchester United at the Amex.

March bounced back from a below-par display at Watford to cause England’s Ashley Young problems and set up the first goal for Glenn Murray.

Now he has an opportunity to test another England World Cup squad full-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, at Anfield on Saturday (5.30pm) with competition for wide spots about to hot up.

Anthony Knockaert also impressed against United. Record signing Alireza Jahanbakhsh got 90 minutes under his belt in the under-23s at Arsenal on Monday night and Colombian World Cup winger Jose Izquierdo (knee) should soon be back in contention.

Hughton told The Argus: “It’s very difficult to single out players but I thought he (March) was another one that was really good and wasn’t so good last week (at Watford), so I was really pleased for him.

“It’s their responsibility to make sure they stay in the team. Everybody over the season will be used. That’s the reason we brought players in during the summer, to have the type of squad we’ve got.”

Hughton will depend on Murray to lead the line again at Anfield and occupy Virgil van Dijk and former Albion loan target Joe Gomez.

“You need a target, particularly when you are playing against the best teams,” Hughton said.

“You know they are going to have the ball and you are going to be under pressure, you need an outlet.

“Glenn was excellent (against United) and gave us that really strong outlet both ways. When we had the ball but also stopping their two centre-halves having the type of day they would like. It was a very good performance by him.”
