Crawley striker Guy Madjo is determined to take his big international chance.

The powerful frontman has been called up by Cameroon to take part in a five-day training camp in Germany from Thursday.

The 23-year-old will link up with some big-name players such as Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o and former Liverpool defender Rigobert Song.

Cameroon boss Otto Pfister will use the camp to select his squad for next year's African Cup of Nations.

Madjo, who has twice been involved in his country's Olympic squads in the past, has attracted attention after scoring ten goals in 20 games for Reds this season.

He said: "I am very excited about it. Every player wants to be called up for his national team so this is a great honour for me.

"This is the last camp before they pick the squad for the African Nations Cup so it is very important. It would be amazing to be part of it.

"I have been in the Olympic camp twice so they know about me and I definitely have a chance.

"The manager has seen I can bring something to the squad and has decided to give me the chance to show it in the first team.

"I am confident in my ability. There will be a lot of big players there and I will respect them for what they have achieved but I will not let it affect me.

"I am just beginning in my career and I am going to try my very best. I always try to do everything right and I will be going there confident I can do well."

Madjo's call-up means he will miss Crawley's home clash against Conference premier title favourites Torquay on Saturday.
