Defender Ronnie Bull admits a clash of personalities with boss Steve Evans played a part in his departure from Crawley.
Bull agreed to have the rest of his contract cancelled on Monday after being told he was not in Evans' plans for the future.
The bubbly Londoner joined Reds a year ago and played a big role in helping the club beat the drop last season.
The former Millwall full-back had been a regular under Evans this season but has revealed he did not get on with his boss.
He said: "The gaffer came to me and offered me a deal to leave and I agreed. It was a strange one because I have been in the team and doing quite well.
"He needed a right-back and I had played there for Millwall in the Championship and said I could do a job for him. I thought I actually played some of my best football there this season.
"My performances were not a problem but I don't think it was football related. It is no secret that I had a few run-ins with him after games. We didn't really see eye-to-eye which can happen."
Are you sorry to see Ronnie Bull leave?
