Captain Tyrone Thompson is happy to be staying at Crawley.

Reds turned down a £15,000 offer from Blue Square premier division rivals Forest Green Rovers for the tough-tackling midfielder earlier this week.

The 26-year-old Yorkshireman has attracted interest from a number of clubs since joining from Halifax in the summer.

Rovers are enjoying their best season in non-league's top flight and have serious hopes of reaching the play-offs.

But Thompson insists he does not want to leave Broadfield Stadium.

He said: "As far as I'm concerned I'm happy here and as long as the club are happy to reject the offer I'm more than happy to stay.

"It is only when the club do not want you that you have to start considering your options.

"The gaffer (Steve Evans) told me last week that there had been an enquiry for me but the actual offer came out of the blue.

"The fact the club rejected it shows they are trying to keep the squad together and move in the right direction.

"Forest Green have done well in the league over the last couple of seasons and play some quality football.

"But the gaffer is building something here and I want to be a part of it."

Thompson is hoping to lead his side into the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy for the first time in their history tomorrow.

Reds take on Blue Square premier strugglers Droylsden at home on the back of a six-game unbeaten run.

They beat the Manchester-based side 5-0 earlier in the season after the Bloods had two players sent off.

Droylsden have suffered 5-0 defeats in each of their last two away games but have strengthened in recent weeks and beat Kidderminster 1-0 last week.

Defender Ronnie Bull, who was released by Reds on Monday, has signed for Ebbsfleet United.
