Crawley striker Jon-Paul Pittman has been given the all-clear by doctors following his horrific-looking injury during the FA Trophy drubbing of Droylsden.

Pittman, scorer of the fourth goal, was taken to hospital after clashing heads with defender Lee Roche early in the second half at Broadfield Stadium.

There was concern for the frontman as he lay motionless on the floor while an ambulance was called.

The game was held up for 30 minutes and the players from both sides went back into the dressing rooms.

Pittman was eventually rolled onto a stretcher and carried off by paramedics but after two precautionary x-rays to his neck, the striker was allowed home on Saturday night.

He has been given a couple of days rest to recover and is expected to return to training at the end of the week.
