Jake Robinson has admitted it means nothing to be back on the scoresheet for Albion.

The centre-forward turned right- winger struck for the first time in seven appearances before two goals in injury-time sentenced the Seagulls to a 2-1 defeat at Cheltenham.

Robinson, who drove in his fourth of the season early in the second half, said: "I was pleased to score but it really means nothing, given the final result.

"We were in a state of shock in the dressing room. We were never cruising but when you go into injury time 1-0 up you don't expect to come away with nothing. Everyone was absolutely gutted.

"The only thing I can compare it to was the play-off game against Swindon at home. I was a ball boy for that game and we were on the right end of that one, which was a fantastic feeling.

"This was completely at the other end of the scale.

"I have never been on the receiving end of a smash and grab like that."

Robinson was substituted soon after scoring and watched in disbelief from the bench as goals by Alex Russell, two minutes into time added on, and Steven Gillespie, two minutes later, snatched the points for Cheltenham.

"When the first goal went in everyone had their heads down, wondering how we hadn't won," said Robinson.

"The second goal happened so quickly. By the time the ball hit the net we were in absolute shock.

"I wouldn't say I was surprised to be taken off. It has happened quite a lot the last few times I've been playing.

"I had taken a couple of knocks and I don't know whether that had something to do with it. You are always disappointed not to play for 90 minutes but I was hoping the team were going to hold on."

Robinson's starting place could be under threat against Tranmere at Withdean tomorrow night. David Martot is expected to recover from an ankle injury and Gary Hart is available again after suspension.
