Albion are hoping to make one loan signing and possibly two before Tuesday's home game against Tranmere, with David Martot still part of a long injury list.
The Seagulls were hoping the Frenchman would be fit but the ankle injury which ruled him out of Saturday's last-gasp 2-1 defeat at Cheltenham will sideline him again.
Meanwhile, Wes Fogden fears he may be suspended along with Adam El-Abd for the return clash with Cheltenham on February 19.
Fogden was booked after replacing goalscorer Jake Robinson at Whaddon Road.
Albion are investigating whether he has received enough cautions to take him up to a ban following a loan spell at Dorchester earlier in the season.
