Scott Chamberlain hopes his spectacular winning goal in the Sussex Senior Cup final will not be his last in an Albion shirt.

Chamberlain fired in a 25-yard thunderbolt as an Albion Reserves side featuring ten out-of-contract players beat Crawley 1-0 at Priory Lane yesterday.

The midfielder will find out whether he will be awarded a new deal to stay with the Seagulls today together with fellow cup winners Paul Reid, Wes Fogden, Sam Rents, John Sullivan, Shane McFaul, Sonny Cobbs, Sam Gargan, Chris Winterton and Lloyd Skinner.

Doug Loft, Kerry Mayo, Guy Butters, Gary Hart and Adam Hinshelwood will also meet with manager Dean Wilkins to discover their fate.

Chamberlain said: "It is a nervous time for me but the season is over now, I've done my best and so there are no regrets.

"If I get something then that would be absolutely brilliant but if not I will have to take a step back for a while and then try to push again.

"It is going to be a busy day because there are a lot of us in the same boat and nobody really knows what the future holds.

"The management tell you if you are doing well but they don't give anything away."

Chamberlain has won plenty of plaudits for his performances in helping Bognor avoid relegation from Blue Square south after spending the majority of the season on loan at Nyewood Lane.

The 20-year-old picked the perfect moment to show his class again in front of the watching Wilkins at Priory Lane when he cleverly beat an opponent before letting fly into the top corner just before half-time.

He added: "It's nice to score any goal but it is even better when it's a winning goal in a cup final. It was a nice finish, one of those when as soon as you hit it you know it is in.

"It can't have done my chances any harm that the gaffer was there to see it so, hopefully, it won't be my last for Albion."
