Albion prospect Teddy Jenks could miss the rest of the season.
The midfielder on loan to Crawley Town suffered a hamstring injury in the recent defeat at Stockport County.
Reds boss Scott Lindsey has confirmed he expects to be without the 20-year-old for "pretty much the season now".
Lindsey said: "It's obviously disappointing because he has done really well."
Jenks has played 17 games in League Two, including 12 starts.
He recently scored a fine goal, his first in the EFL, to get Lindsey’s tenure off to a winning start against Salford.
His fellow Albion loanee Jack Spong, also a midfielder, made his debut last time out as a very late sub at Leyton Orient.
Reds are at home to Carlisle tomorrow.
