Henry Crocombe has been urged to keep building on potential after signing a new deal with Sussex.

Head coach Paul Farbrace has welcomed the seamer’s progress this season and is pleased to see him agree a two-year extension.

The county have secured both Crocombe, 21, and spinner Jack Carson, 22, on extended terms.

Crocombe has 14 Championship wickets to date at 31.14 apiece.

Sussex remain in the thick of the Championship division two promotion race as they prepare to host Derbyshire at Hove from Monday.

Head coach Paul Farbrace said: “Henry has really kicked on this year and is developing into an excellent bowler.

“He has learnt a lot about himself this season and we are really excited by the potential he has, and how he’s turning that potential into performance.

“We are all really pleased he has chosen to commit the next couple of seasons to our exciting on field project at Sussex.”
