Sussex have lost rising star Ali Orr to Hampshire.
The hard-hitting top-order batsman has headed west for an undisclosed sum in compensation.
The news will come as a big disappointment for Sussex supporters as they hope for improved fortunes in the 2024 campaign.
Orr came through the Sussex pathway and was one of the brightest prospects among the county’s array of young players.
In a statement, Sussex revealed he had one year remaining on his contract and was looking to renegotiate new terms with the club.
The club said: “With this not possible, he signalled his intentions to move elsewhere.”
