Adam Hinshelwood believes Worthing have got the balance right in their good recent run.
They are unbeaten in five games after an impressive 3-0 success at Aveley in Vanarama National League south.
Tommy Willard scored on his debut after signing on loan from Aldershot and Ollie Pearce added a late double.
Rebels boss Hinshelwood said: “I thought it was an unbelievable away performance at a really difficult place to come.
“I am really enjoying watching the team play.
“We are getting the balance right.
“Being really good on the ball without having the hunger to work hard just doesn’t work.
“We are really seeing one or two step up to the plate now.
“It seems to be clicking at a good time for us.”
Eastbourne Borough went down 1-0 at Bath City as Ewan Clark scored on 78 minutes.
Borough boss Adam Murray said: “I don’t think we deserved to lose the game but I need to see more from players in terms of my wanting to win the game.
“I don’t know if it’s fear or a lack of know-how of how to win football matches.”
