Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni wants to give Valentin Barco his international debut over the next few days.
The Albion left-back or midfielder is with the senior squad for the first time as they play two friendlies in the USA.
Barco is one of two new faces in the group and Scaloni said: “We hope to give them the opportunity to play one of these two games. That's the idea.
“The training sessions have been important.
“It has been a long week and it has helped us to see them, analyse them, chat with them.
“Have small meetings to tell them what we want and what we saw from them. They are interesting players."
Argentina meet El Salvador in Philadelphia and Costa Rica in Los Angeles with Facundo Buonanotte expected to play some part.
